Thank You!

I and my two sons and daughter were on a middle Yough trip last Wednesday with Missy. I had a great time, as did the kids! Missy was great, and I would also like to thank the nice man who helped me carry the raft the rest of the way up the hill at the take out. I was the only adult in my group and was pretty well spent at that point, as were the kids. He also drove us to and from the river in the van. I wish I knew your name, but thank you so much for helping us. I would love to do the trip again!

FALLS AT 10FTHIGH WATER 10+     fall normalNORMAL LEVEL

Due to flash flooding and thunderstorms within the Ohiopyle State Park the Lower Youghiogheny River  is moving quite fast and is really something to see. The rocks and boulders on The Lower Yough that usually appear out of nowhere are just that, nowhere to be seen completely submersed at this time. It has been a long time that the water levels have been this high in Ohiopyle State Park. Rest assured they are falling and will be back to normal soon.

FIRST TRIP OF 2011 SEASON

Thursday, March 10, 2011 by Carol Kuhns
First tripfirst trip

We are often ask, do we raft if it rains? Well we also will raft in the snow. This was the first trip of the season and the night before we had received a few inches of snow. This did not stop this group. They were so excited to raft, the snow was the last thing on their minds. These guys were a group from IUP ( on spring break ) and they told us, they are hockey players so this had no impact on them. White water rafting is what they wanted to do that day no matter what.

rafting story,4

Tuesday, January 4, 2011 by ww adventures
I wanted to tell of one of my favorite adventures with you.

some of the folks I work with wanted to white water raft and I set up our trip. We got there and got organized and I was in a raft with 3 other high spirited fun people. We got started and were on our way when within 6 minutes of the trip we went over a small rift and the guy to my left lost his balance falling into me and knocking me completely off the raft and as they were all laughing I was going in yelling "Thanks, Brian" and so it started. I got back in and as we traveled down the middle Yough we talked and laughed and were having a great time and as we came to the calm spots it was a contest to see which one stayed in the raft as each was pushing others out, the water was great and we had a great team building experience. When we got to the huge rock you can jump into the water from we pulled over and decided to all line up and jump bravely together there was a group watching and as we went forward I stopped, hesitated for a moment then jumped and one spectator said and I thought you were the smart one, it was fantastic to enjoy the water there, it gives you such life and excitement.

We regularly talk of that day, it brings folks together to share great times. Thanks for having a the equipment for all to rent and experience great adventures!

rafting story, 1

Tuesday, January 4, 2011 by ww adventures
My boss decided to do a team building get away this summer which included a trip to White Water Adventures. There was a work group of 7 of us who decided to go rafting, a few had done it before, but most of us had not. We had a blast! We worked as a team, took direction from the guides and did well. Once coworker almost went overboard twice, but we rallied to her aid quickly. We all said we definitely want to do this again. a great adventure for a family, a group or organization!

What's included in the cost of the rafting trip?

Tuesday, January 4, 2011 by ww adventures
Guide escorted tours for Ohiopyle rafting trips at White Water Adventurers, Inc. (on the Middle Yough and Lower Yough) include a 4 to 6 person raft, paddles, personal flotation devices, helmets, a deli-style lunch, transportation back to the check-in area, and guide escorts in kayaks along with the trip (not in the raft with you).

That is your basic Ohiopyle rafting vacation. You can customize your  fun family vacation in many ways.

Upgrades include:  the captained raft option (a guide in the raft with you), taking a 1 or 2 person inflatable kayak instead of the raft, biking back to Ohiopyle instead of riding the bus, or for groups of 20 or more, having a BBQ/picnic after the trip.

Class 5 rafting trips on the Upper Yough include a 4 person raft (3 guests and 1 guide), paddles, personal flotation devices, helmets, transportation to the river and back to the check-in area in Ohiopyle,  and lunch at our coffee shop before the trip.

The Cheat River tour includes rafts (the size depends on the water level), paddles, personal flotation devices, helmets, a deli-style lunch, transportation to the river and back to the check-in area in Ohiopyle, and guides in the raft with you.

number of people in rafts

Monday, December 27, 2010 by ww adventures

Here at White Water Adventurers we pride ourselves on being flexible.

Under normal water conditions, our Ohiopyle rafting trips use 4 to 6 person rafts and the guides travel downriver in their own kayaks. Your fun family vacation does not need to fill a raft. We can accommodate any group size.

Smaller family rafting trips will be paired up with other rafters (This is a great way to make new friends.) or you may choose to upgrade to a 1 or 2 person inflatable kayak or personal paddle boat.

Don't worry if your family vacation group includes an odd number of persons.  Rafts can have 3 or 5 persons too.

If you are looking at our captained raft option (a guide in the raft), we try to limit the raft to no more than 5 guests and the guide. Otherwise, there's not a lot of leg room.

Bottom line: It's your group. You choose how many you would like to have in the raft and who you want to sit beside. Remember, we're having FUN here!
