As we see the leaves change so quickly, from the brilliant green to the wonderful fall colors of reds and yellows to the bright orange. This is Abby she is one of our guides who grew up in the middle of the Ohiopyle State Park. One of the most popular questions here at whitewater  is what our guides do in the offseason.Most of our white water rafting guides are students or firemen or work at ski resorts in the off season, but Abby does a little of everything. She was a full time student at California University of Pa. While going to school she played ice hockey there so that is what would consume all of her free time until once again that ice would melt and she would then become one of our river girls again. Looking for something to do on this upcoming weekend? I have the best idea, so my friends and I wanted to do something fun and outside. We live in the Pittsburgh area and and needed a quick trip somewhere and fast. This is why we decided to go white water rafting in Ohiopyle Pa.
Even though the weekend was around 70 degrees and rainy our white water rafting expedition was so much fun. The rapids were getting us wet anyways so it was no big deal it was raining. I would highly recommend any college group to go here, you could even take your kids white water rafting.

What's great about the Yough Plaza is that it's the only hotel located right in the town of Ohiopyle.  This put you in easy walking distance to white water rafting, Ohiopyle Falls, the stores and restaurants of Ohiopyle as well as all the other activities you mike want to take advantage of before or after rafting at Ohiopyle.

I just wanted to say a little something about my family vacation to Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. We went there just thinking the only thing there was the river and we were just planning on swimming in a calm pools there and hanging out on the rocks. Well when we got there we saw people every where on the river and on the bike trail so we decided to explore a bit.

We ended up talking to one of the locals who pointed us in the direction of White Water Adventurers. This is where we met September, she was from the area and wanted us to have a great experience in the park. She signed us up for a guided white water rafting trip on the middle yough.

I was a little nervous about taking my young kids white water rafting on the river all alone, September had Andrew jump in our raft to help us out. This was great my kids had a blast, and have not stopped talking about it since we left. Thank you to September for your help and Andrew for making this a great vacation.

I was recently on a family vacation in Colorado and we decided to go on a white water rafting expedition. We  went with Buffalo Joes White Water Rafting Company. It just so happened that our white water rafting guide was Alex. Alex is from Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania,when  we got talking  he told us when we got back home to Washington , DC we should check out the Ohiopyle State Park it was great for families and it was beatiful.
He use to be a guide there and recommended us to go rafting with White Water Adventurers. We decided to check it out a few weeks ago when we had those extremly hott days.
They had everything in that small little town that was right in the middle of the Ohiopyle State Park. My family went rafting on the Upper Yough which was the class 5 part of the river they offered. I wanted to check out the town and relax so  I rented a bike and rode on the bike trail and also had a little lunch at the coffee shop right there at white water. This was great, my family loved it and wanted to come back with their friends. I would recommened White Water Adventures to anyone, they have a friendly staff who is there to make your family vacation one to remember. 

I bet everyone is starting to think that summer is coming to an end quickly, i know i was! My time was running out for family vacation. I was running out of ideas, in the past we have done the whole disney world thing as well as going to all of those crowded beaches. We live in the DC area and so i started looking for anything close by to squeeze in last minute, the only tough thing about this was that the ages range in our family from 23,20, 12 and 7 so finding family vacation spots to please everyone is not very easy.

Then i came across Ohiopyle rafting trips.. I thought this place was great, they had activities for everyone. The three olds kids went white water rafting on the lower yough which was challenging enough and fun for all of them, while the youngest and I went rafting on the middle yough! That was the easy section, but my seven year old had a blast! The guides at whitewater adventurers did a great job with us on the middle, they even had squirt guns and games to play while floating down the river through the Ohiopyle State Park.
So I just wanted to share my story and thank everyone at whitewater adventurers for a great rafting trip and we will be sure to check out the class 5 whitewater rafting on our next visit.

Scooty C, one of our vetran river guides here in Ohiopyle has taken time off from white water rafting to serve our counrty overseas. He hasn't mentioned the great rafting Iraq has to offer. The white water rafting in Ohiopyle has a strong draw. and come September, we will once again have Scotty sitting in the back of a raft :enjoying Ohiopyle, rafting, people and life as a river guide once again.

they're baaaack   Just like the Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins, we start them young. They have Jordon, Sidney and Geno, who set the hockey world on fire. The Ohiopyle rafting world has Gordo, Buck and Shane. These kids have been white water rafting and kayaking for almost half of their lives. They love what what they are doing. Wouldn't you? Their playground is Ohiopyle State Park and the Youghiogheny River. So when visiting Ohiopyle PA or you want to go rafting, biking or hiking, ask for one of these young gunns, they enjoy showing off what they do.
