In Ohiopyle State Park, there are number of different rafters you will see on the Lower Youghiogheny. Everything from people on family rafting trips, to people renting personal paddle boats and duckies and....
ducks?!?!One of our photographers snapped this picture of a momma duck taking her ducklings (and friends?)
up the river. These aren't your ordinary run-of-the-mill ducks, these are rough, rugged, and just generally awesome river ducks.
These little guys will swim upstream through the rapids and even under the water. They do pretty much everything a rafter will do, even catching eddies!
So next time you are in the area and are doing some Ohiopyle rafting, if you pay attention and are lucky, you might even see some ducks on the river. Just remember to respect the wildlife!

Here in Ohiopyle State Park, people will venture down the Lower Yough in a variety of watercrafts. Whether it's a group of friends going on a good ol' fashioned Pennsylvania raft rental or a family taking inflatable kayaks for a spin on one of our guided raft trips, there are plenty of ways to to customize your family vacation or weekend getaway!
The guides that work at White Water Adventurers are so experienced, they don't even need rafts! So what are you waiting for? Come visit Ohiopyle State Park and go rafting, and who knows, you may even witness a guide walk on water!
With Father's Day right around the corner, I'm sure there are many of you out there that are still not sure what to get for your pop. Will you get him a new pair of camoflage boots that will wear out in a couple of months? Or maybe a Sports Illustrated subscription that he will never read? Have you thought about taking him on a family vacation?
Well, here at Whitewater Adventurers, we offer rafting trips that your fathers or dads, or whatever you like to call your old man, will enjoy.
Whether he's interested in renting a raft or duckie and going down the Middle Yough (Class 1-2), or going on one of our guide-escorted trips on the Lower Yough (Class 3-4), we have something that he will love. We also have mountain bikes and cruisers available if your family just wants to check out all the sights of Ohiopyle. We even do fully guided trips on the Upper Yough! (Class 5 Rafting)

A lot of people enjoy rafting in Ohiopyle for a fun family vacation, but not everybody has the time to a do a full 3-5 hour trip. Well fear not, there is a trip for you! The first mile and a half of the Lower Yough makes up a section of the river called "The Loop." And even though it is only a mile and a half, this section is filled with thrills! If you would like to go on a guided tour and just do " The Loop " no problem just let us know.
Or you can still rent a 4 or 6 person raft, inflatable kayak, or a personal paddle boat. The Loop takeout leads you to the bike trail, which allows you to transport your craft of choice back to us.
The greatest thing about the Loop is that it can be completed in 30-45 minutes! Many people will go on the Loop 2 or 3 times. So if you are just now deciding on going on a last minute family rafting trip, coming up for the day from Pittsburgh or DC, check out the Loop if you are pressed for time!

Well Ohiopyle is a great place to get the ball moving on your summer weekend getaway with those friends. Whitewater Adventurers offers you the ability to rent your own raft.
I know this sounds weird but my friends and I just wanted to take our time going down the river and catching up on old times and stories. Well I came to find out that Pennsylvania raft rentals is really not that common, because of some restrictions they put on taking your own raft down the river. My friends and I were so glad that the Ohiopyle State park lets you rent your own raft and take the challenge of guiding your self down the river. My friends and I have had so much fun rafting and hanging out in Ohiopyle that we now are going to make it our yearly outing to come back and visit and even try upper yough which is class 5 rafting. We are so excited and hope that everyone can experience the fun we had.
There are lots of choices for lodging when planning a family vacation getaway to Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. We would like to recommend the Yough Plaza Hotel.

What's great about the Yough Plaza is that it's the only hotel located right in the town of Ohiopyle. This put you in easy walking distance to white water rafting, Ohiopyle Falls, the stores and restaurants of Ohiopyle as well as all the other activities you mike want to take advantage of before or after rafting at Ohiopyle.
One of the best activities right out your front door is biking along the Great Allegheny Passage which is a beautiful ride along the Yough River both up and downstream from the main whitewater rafting area. White Water Adventures is a great source for brand new
bike rental in Ohioplyle.
I was recently on a family vacation in Colorado and we decided to go on a white water rafting expedition. We went with
Buffalo Joes White Water Rafting Company. It just so happened that our white water rafting guide was Alex. Alex is from Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, when we got talking he told us when we got back home to Washington , DC we should check out the Ohiopyle State Park it was great for families and it was beatiful.
He use to be a guide there and recommended us to go rafting with
White Water Adventurers. We decided to check it out a few weeks ago when we had those extremly hott days.
They had everything in that small little town that was right in the middle of the Ohiopyle State Park. My family went rafting on the Upper Yough which was the class 5 part of the river they offered. I wanted to check out the town and relax so I rented a bike and rode on the bike trail and also had a little lunch at the coffee shop right there at white water. This was great, my family loved it and wanted to come back with their friends. I would recommened
White Water Adventures to anyone, they have a friendly staff who is there to make your family vacation one to remember.

The Great Allegheny Passage is the 150 mile system of hiking and biking trails that connect Cumberland, MD and Pittsburgh, PA. It follows the Yough river right through Ohiopyle, PA and beyond. For a unique perspective of the falls reserve your spot on a guided tour of the lower Yough river, which starts just below the falls. Or rent equipment to find your own way down the river. Either will produce a fun filled day and white water rafting memories that last a lifetime.
Ohiopyle is such a great place for a family vacation. There are so many things to do. You can rent bikes for very reasonable prices. The bike trial is located at the end of town where you can either go to the left which will take you along the lower yough. This is also nice because you can walk from the bike trail right down to different rapids on the river and watch some of the rafting trips go by. Then if you decided to go to the right side of the bike trail that will take you along side the middle yough. The Middle yough is the part of the river which is mellow and great for young children to enjoy the outdoors.
