Did that summer go fast or what? White water rafting in the great State of Pennsylvania has been ideal. The weather has been as normal as normal can be, enough rain to keep the springs full and the rivers "rapid". If you missed summer or didn't do an Ohiopyle rafting vacation, there is still plenty of time to enjoy our scenic areas.
If you just need a quick weekend get-a-way, try Ohiopyle whitewater rafting, biking on the G.A.P. or just relaxing!!

A big part of Ohiopyle Rafting Vacations has to do with the unique view of nature you get from a real wilderness experience that's as close as many other DC weekend trips. With today's Camera and dry-box technology Pennsylvania White Water Rafting can offer a perspective to photography that you will never find on a hike.
I'm sure we don't have to tell you that it's been a rainey summer so far. Ohiopyle Rafting is perhaps the one outdoor summer activity where we dance for rain....rain means fast water, great family adventure and lot's ofopportunitiess to get outside and see the world in a way that can't compare to another painful weekend in the suburbs. Bring your camera; Bring yourfamilyy & friends and come paddle the river with White WaterAdventurerss!

I just wanted to say a little something about my family vacation to Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. We went there just thinking the only thing there was the river and we were just planning on swimming in a calm pools there and hanging out on the rocks. Well when we got there we saw people every where on the river and on the bike trail so we decided to explore a bit. We ended up talking to one of the locals who pointed us in the direction of White Water Adventurers. This is where we met September, she was from the area and wanted us to have a great experience in the park. She signed us up for a guided white water rafting trip on the middle yough.
I was a little nervous about taking my young kids white water rafting on the river all alone, September had Andrew jump in our raft to help us out. This was great my kids had a blast, and have not stopped talking about it since we left. Thank you to September for your help and Andrew for making this a great vacation.

I bet everyone is starting to think that summer is coming to an end quickly, i know i was! My time was running out for family vacation. I was running out of ideas, in the past we have done the whole disney world thing as well as going to all of those crowded beaches. We live in the DC area and so i started looking for anything close by to squeeze in last minute, the only tough thing about this was that the ages range in our family from 23,20, 12 and 7 so finding family vacation spots to please everyone is not very easy. Then i came across Ohiopyle rafting trips.. I thought this place was great, they had activities for everyone. The three olds kids went white water rafting on the lower yough which was challenging enough and fun for all of them, while the youngest and I went rafting on the middle yough! That was the easy section, but my seven year old had a blast! The guides at whitewater adventurers did a great job with us on the middle, they even had squirt guns and games to play while floating down the river through the Ohiopyle State Park.
So I just wanted to share my story and thank everyone at whitewater adventurers for a great rafting trip and we will be sure to check out the class 5 whitewater rafting on our next visit.

Hi, I am writing on behalf of the entire Acosta family from Miami,FL. We had an incredible time on your adventure. We have been talking about this trip for the past couple of weeks. Honestly, there are no words to truly decribe this experience! You guys did an amazing job of keeping everyone safe and keeping our spirits up when we were winded! We would all be more than glad to come back in the future and share this experience with the rest of our families. Keep up the awesome work you are all doing.
Sincerely,
Danny
We (my family and I) went on the Lower Yough river rafting trip on 8.09.08 at noon. Our guide was Corey. Just wanted to tell you how much we all enjoyed rafting with him! He was soo much fun to spend the day with and we hope that when we decide to raft again, he will be around to go with us. I'm sure he will remember our group as we all had a great time! Tell him the "whom hop" group thought he was a blast!! Thanks for the great time!!!!! Diana from Burton, MI

Ohiopyle is such a great place for a family vacation. There are so many things to do. You can rent bikes for very reasonable prices. The bike trial is located at the end of town where you can either go to the left which will take you along the lower yough. This is also nice because you can walk from the bike trail right down to different rapids on the river and watch some of the rafting trips go by. Then if you decided to go to the right side of the bike trail that will take you along side the middle yough. The Middle yough is the part of the river which is mellow and great for young children to enjoy the outdoors.
Family Rafting Trips

When you think about family rafting trips, you might think about yourself and family traveling to our area for rafting near Pittsburgh.
We consider family rafting trips a different way...our staff. Being in the tourism industry, we have had many employees come and go over the 37 years we've been operating. They come to us from high school or college and usually spend several years with us before leaving to pursue their real careers.
But then a funny thing happens. They come back. They call on the phone just to see how things are going. They send Christmas cards and let us know what's going in their lives. They come back and guide on the river for the summer, on the weekends, during their vacations. Just like parents, we welcome them home, like lost family members.
So when you come rafting with us this summer, ask your guides what they do for their "real" job. You might have Tim who does web design, John who is an EMT, Michael or Chad who are both firemen, Steve who works in graphic design, Pete or Jeff who are both teachers, Joe who is a chef, Pat who is a political consultant, or one of our many other returning family members.

Several years ago, my husband & I had the opportunity to go horseback riding through the rainforest in Puerto Rico. Guess what? It rained...no check that... it poured. We ended up soaked. To this day, we laugh at the memory of the time that we got "rained on" in the rainforest.
Pennsylvania rafting is somewhat similar. You never know what is going to happen on any given day. Because we are in the mountains, our weather is unpredictable and we experience the full range of the seasons and all mother nature has to offer.
I was recently speaking with one of our guests who took one of our rafting guided trips on a cold, spring day. When I asked her if she had a good time, she replied, (I'm paraphrasing) that anyone could go rafting on an 80 degree summer day, but to wake up in the morning and see it snowing and still go rafting...That was an adventure.
How true. You only live once so you need to capture adventure where and when you can find it. And just like my horseback riding experience through the rainforest, family rafting trips in the cold and rain create those lasting memories that bring a smile to your face when someone says, "Remember that time when..."
