The trails in Ohiopyle are not only for the beginner hiker, there are many advanced and difficult trails in the area. We are often ask, do we raft if it rains? Well we also will raft in the snow. This was the first trip of the season and the night before we had received a few inches of snow. This did not stop this group. They were so excited to raft, the snow was the last thing on their minds. These guys were a group from IUP ( on spring break ) and they told us, they are hockey players so this had no impact on them. White water rafting is what they wanted to do that day no matter what.
Ok this is December, not even winter yet and all we have seen is snow....Great for all those skiers, where you will find most of our staff spending their winters on the slopes, cross country skiing or even running the ski lift at Seven Springs. Already I miss the sounds of the Lower Yough waters.
With Christmas just around the corner and the New Year approaching. Keep us in mind this winter, for Family Vacation trips this summer. Ohiopyle is a top family Vacation spot in the area. With so much to do and enjoy in Ohiopyle. Middle Yough is the perfect place. For children as young as 5 can start on the Middle Yough. They get a chance to see what White Water rafting is all about, to use the paddle to move their boats down river and swim right in the river.The Middle has the the best scenery that you can enjoy while rafting in Ohiopyle State Park. This is one of the the Top Family Vacation spots around the area.
While on the Middle Yough you may see ducks swimming along with you, even deer come down for a drink as you pass by, While you are on your tour you may even see a large and loud.....Train. You will see this river right, and you will see one or two pass you by as you paddle down.
For a Fun Family Rafting trips consider the Middle Yough, not only for the young but even for the older ones in your family. We have inflatables which are like kayaks, but they are open you are not closed in so you have no worries of trying to roll over. If you flip or fall out you just climb back in.

Here at White Water Adventurers our season is coming to an end . As we see the leaves change so quickly, from the brilliant green to the wonderful fall colors of reds and yellows to the bright orange. Ohiopyle State Park is not quite at its peak yet ,however soon we will be there. We have a few trips left be run on the
lower Yough. This time of the year makes the best for Pennsylvania Rafting in Ohiopyle, not only to enjoy time with family and friends but to see Autumn come alive in Ohiopyle State Park. Come take a walk with your kids or significant other, rent a bike and ride the trials along the river. The mass colors of Ohiopyle will not last long.Set aside some time, this weekend come to Pennsylvania and enjoy what nature has to offer.
If you live any where in this country, this winter has been pretty cold. You can not escape the bitterness even, as far south as Florida they have been experiencing the cold. I am sure the last thing on your mind is White Water Rafting. As you shovel yet another day,there seems to be no end to this. Just keep in mind there are only 13 weeks of winter and soon this will all melt. Which means, come spring the lower yough will make for the best the Youghiogheny River in Ohiopyle State Park has to offer. You are on a class 3 and 4 river but will feel like a class 5. But do keep in mind when the water levels are high we do have the professional guide in your raft. We use the larger rafts when we are above 4 foot, these rafts will hold up to 8 to 10 people. Plan now get your friends together. Once this snow is gone, come March we will be ready. Will you? Oh by the way this is our Manager Jim Greenbaum
