Ohiopyle Family Rafting, Whitewater adventure
I'm hearing a lot of crying lately about how wet is't been in the Pittsburgh and Washington DC area this summer.   Are you crazy!  If you are looking for family vacation trips that embrace the rain you have got to come on one of our daily Ohiopyle Rafting Trips!

No question that if your summer plans include standing in line at an amusement park or eating hotdogs at a game...well this summer might be a disappointment to some.

However, if you are really looking for an activity to do with your family that takes advantage of all that nature has to offer, and THRIVES in the rain.   Ohiopyle Family Rafting in Ohiopyle State Park is running wide open this season!  Come get wet and laugh at the rain!

Ohiopyle Rafting VacationsA big part of Ohiopyle Rafting Vacations has to do with the unique view of nature you get from a real wilderness experience that's as close as many other DC weekend trips.

With today's Camera and dry-box technology Pennsylvania White Water Rafting can offer a perspective to photography that you will never find on a hike.

I'm sure we don't have to tell you that it's been a rainey summer so far.  Ohiopyle Rafting is perhaps the one outdoor summer activity where we dance for rain....rain means fast water, great family adventure and lot's ofopportunitiess to get outside and see the world in a way that can't compare to another painful weekend in the suburbs.  Bring your camera;  Bring yourfamilyy & friends and come paddle the river with White WaterAdventurerss!

I was recently on a family vacation in Colorado and we decided to go on a white water rafting expedition. We  went with Buffalo Joes White Water Rafting Company. It just so happened that our white water rafting guide was Alex. Alex is from Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, when  we got talking  he told us when we got back home to Washington , DC we should check out the Ohiopyle State Park it was great for families and it was beatiful.
He use to be a guide there and recommended us to go rafting with White Water Adventurers. We decided to check it out a few weeks ago when we had those extremly hott days.
They had everything in that small little town that was right in the middle of the Ohiopyle State Park. My family went rafting on the Upper Yough which was the class 5 part of the river they offered. I wanted to check out the town and relax so  I rented a bike and rode on the bike trail and also had a little lunch at the coffee shop right there at white water. This was great, my family loved it and wanted to come back with their friends. I would recommened White Water Adventures to anyone, they have a friendly staff who is there to make your family vacation one to remember.

I bet everyone is starting to think that summer is coming to an end quickly, i know i was! My time was running out for family vacation. I was running out of ideas, in the past we have done the whole disney world thing as well as going to all of those crowded beaches. We live in the DC area and so i started looking for anything close by to squeeze in last minute, the only tough thing about this was that the ages range in our family from 23,20, 12 and 7 so finding family vacation spots to please everyone is not very easy.

Then i came across Ohiopyle rafting trips.. I thought this place was great, they had activities for everyone. The three olds kids went white water rafting on the lower yough which was challenging enough and fun for all of them, while the youngest and I went rafting on the middle yough! That was the easy section, but my seven year old had a blast! The guides at whitewater adventurers did a great job with us on the middle, they even had squirt guns and games to play while floating down the river through the Ohiopyle State Park.
So I just wanted to share my story and thank everyone at whitewater adventurers for a great rafting trip and we will be sure to check out the class 5 whitewater rafting on our next visit.

This is one of the falls you may see in Ohiopyle State Park. In the Laurel highlands mountains. This photo was taken by one of guides Tim Nealon... so he has many talents. Come take a family vacation for even just a day to get together to enjoy the area. Looking to go White Water Rafting that is here as well in Ohiopyle. Come up from DC for a weekend trip.

Here at Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania , going over the falls has become a great spectator sport. Although a few brave souls have gone over the falls. This happens only one time a year and goes all weekend long. Usually mid way through the season in August. This one is Buck one of our guides here at White Water Adventurers. Buck is a little different than any guide you may used to seeing. Buck is hearing impaired, he has been deaf since birth. That has not stopped him from any activity he wishes to pursue. Buck also plays on his High School football team as well. Whether you are looking to for a DC Weekend Trip or a Family Vacation, come see the spectacular site of kayakers and thrillseekers going over the Falls.

This is just one of the beautiful sites you can see here  at Ohiopyle State Park. This photo was taken by Brandi one of our employees here at White Water Adventurers. Near where our Family Rafting Trips begin. Planning a DC Weekend Trip ? Stop in Pennsylvania just to see what we have to offer. No traffic jams on our Beltway.

I had never been to the Cheat River before and a few of my friends were going and asked me to go. So i was all excited the night before when we were camping close to the area. Well over night the river levels came up alot, at this point i was very nervous. Thanks to the great guides at White Water Adventures, i felt safe and like i could have fun. I ended up having a great time, Chad was our guide and is a great guy. He works as a firefighter in DC and makes the quick trip on the weekends to run the Cheat river. This was a great experience and I would do it again and again.
